In today’s article we present the easiest way to plant a lemon tree. You already know all benefits of this wonderful fruit, so we believe that everyone should have such a tree in their houses.
You should know that the lemon tree blooms outdoors all year in the warm and sunny regions. But, not necessarily. If you take care of it properly it can make fruits even indoors.
So we thought we’d tell you how to plant and take care of a lemon tree at home, step by step.
Here’s what you need:
-an organic lemon
-a pot with drainage holes
-sun or artificial light
Soil preparation and seed:
Mix the soil enriched with nutrients and water until it gets wet. Fill the pot with soil, making sure to leave free a portion of 1 or 2 cm from the rim.
Cut the lemon and remove the pits, but choose the most vigorous ones. Pit should be cleaned very well of the remaining lemon pulp. And tell you a secret: the best way to clean a lemon pit is in your mouth.
Insert a clean pit about ½ of the soil size specially prepared for this. A very important aspect: the pit should be damp. Cover then with a layer of pebbles and water as usual.
Raising and caring:
Keep the pot in a bright and warm place, making sure to water the soil from time to time and within 2 weeks you’ll see the sprouts. Replicate them into another vessel when they are quite vigorous.
The lemon tree needs at least 8 hours of light per day. In winter, it may be provide a small lamp placed next to the pot.
We won’t finish this article without telling you that lemon flowers are very beautiful and have a strong citrus smell, which will odor the room naturally.
Like any other tree, also the lemon tree yields after the third year, therefore you must have patience and your effort will be rewarded accordingly.
